Titan Training 347 Lifestyle Change For A Healthier Life
Dr. Walter Bortz, author and professor, said, “Our aging is in our own hands. It is no one else’s responsibility. If we depend on our doctors, our families, our government, we risk compromising the quality of our lives.” If we take charge of our lives we can ensure that our future years are creative and radiantly alive.
Changing a behavior and forming new habits can be hard to accomplish and sustain. Yet as we grow older and go through the different stages of life change is necessary to maintain or increase our health, functionally, and mobility. Many people believe that health and vitality are synonymous with youth and that sickness and frailty are associated with aging. The truth is that you can find the fountain of youth with healthy eating, exercise and an active lifestyle.
Healthy lifestyle changes, such as diet and becoming physically active can help you manage or prevent health issues, increase energy, and improve your mental well being. Lifestyle improvements are easier and seem more normal than you might believe with an outcome driven approach.
Titan Training 347 uses the Stages of Change outcome driven approach model to help people live a healthier lifestyle.
This model identifies six sequential stages that people move through as they change from old behaviors to new ones:
Precontemplation There is no intention of taking action.
Contemplation There are intentions to take action and a plan to do so in the near future.
Preparation There is intention to take action and some steps have been taken.
Action Behavior has been changed for a short period of time.
Maintenance Behavior has been changed and continues to be maintained for the long-term.
Termination There is no desire to return to prior negative behaviors.
